Okay so I've finally got myself together and here is my Edinburgh Day In The Life post! I had the best two days there and can't wait to go back at Christmas time! I also just want to say before I start, I owe a MASSIVE thank you to Joyce for getting me there and back, panic attack free. I never would have even considered it this time last year but I'm SO glad I went! It might sound silly to some of you but for me this trip was a big deal, especially getting through it without having a panic attack.
Day One.
I was up early as always with the cats so getting ready in time to catch our early train was no problem. I did get a little bit of anxiety at the train station but it quickly went as we sat and chatted. When we arrived in Edinburgh we grabbed a quick breakfast from McDonalds - I got mine and dad's favorite, an egg and bacon mcmuffin, and was sure to send him a picture to annoy him!

After that it was time for the zoo, the part of the trip I was most excited about! We were supposed the see the Pandas at 11.45 but when we got there neither one of them was out and about so we were told we could come back again later. It actually took us four times in total to see only the male panda and get a semi-decent photo of him sleeping under a tree.
I then stood and took 1000s of pictures of the penguins...yes, I know, I'm obsessed. After that we wandered and saw all the other animals before circling back around for the Penguin Parade. It was breeding season so only three penguins came out for the parade but we were lucky enough that one of them was the King penguin. He had only been doing the parade since last year so was quite nervous but I thought he was the most stunning thing I have ever seen!

After the zoo we went for dinner before going on a walk around Edinburgh to see the tourist spots and pop into a few pubs along the way.

The tourist spots of course included all the Harry Potter related places we could find including Victoria Street - the real Diagon Alley - the real Tom Riddle's grave and birthplace of Harry Potter, The Elephant House.

Day Two.
We were rudely awakened very early by bin men on the second day so we got up, got ready and headed out for some breakfast. After that it was time to hit the shops and we went to all of my favorite places including my happy place, Primark.
I was then very kindly treated to Afternoon Tea at The Dome - Thank you so much Brian & Joyce! I have never been for Afternoon Tea before but it's always been on my 'bucket list' so I'm really glad we had the opportunity to do it. I didn't think I'd like the sandwiches but they were actually really nice. The scones with clotted cream were delicious. It was actually the things we expected to enjoy the most that threw us both off a little bit - the cakes! They were all nice but they were just way too sweet to eat the whole thing and they were only little.

We then continued our shopping spree until our feet just couldn't take it anymore, so we went for a quick drink before catching our train back home. Joyce managed to make some new friends out of the people sitting with us on the train, so we got their life story all the way back. As soon as we got close enough to home we made a swift exit and stood by the train door for the last bit of the journey.
As soon as I got home we ordered a pizza and I spent the night showing my boyfriend everything I had bought and getting kitten cuddles from my two little furbabies! It then took me almost a week to recover from the two days of constant walking we did while away, which is why this post is going up so late!
